Shipping Policy

All orders are processed within 5 business days (excluding weekends and School holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped. Please note we ship on Wednesdays and Fridays as standard, but there may be some delay in shipping over Buckinghamshire School Holidays.

Domestic Shipping Rates and Estimates

We are currently trialling a new postage model for the UK and Europe. If you order from our website the following prices will apply:

  • Postage within the UK - £5.95
  • Postage within Europe - from £22 based on weight
  • Postage internationally - from £30 based on weight

UK orders totalling £35 and over (exclusive of postage) will receive free postage.

Be aware that you may be liable for duties/taxes on delivery. The Roald Dahl Centre (Trading) Ltd are not responsible for these charges.

Delivery timescales

Once your order is despatched, we aim to deliver to you within the following timescales, dependent on destination country:

  • UK- approximately 5 working days
  • EU- approximately 5 working days
  • Europe (non-EU)- approximately 5 working days
  • Worldwide- between 5 and 20 working days

Orders are usually sent by Royal Mail, Parcelforce, or local courier.

UK orders will be sent on a Tracked Service. Overseas orders will be sent on Tracked or a Signed Service, whichever is available in the destination country, and whichever is cheaper.

In-store pickup

You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup at The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden. After placing your order and selecting local pickup at checkout, your order will be prepared and ready for pick up within 5 business days. We will send you an email when your order is ready along with instructions.

Our in-store pickup hours are 10am-4pm on Thursday-Sunday. Please have your order confirmation email with you when you come. 

We request that orders for collection are picked up within 30 days. In the event that an order is not collected within 30 days we will release the order back into stock and issue a refund.

How do I check the status of my order?

If you haven’t received your order within the delivery timescale stated above, please contact us at roalddahlshop@roalddahlmuseum.org with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.

Shipping to P.O. boxes

Please contact us at roalddahlshop@roalddahlmuseum.org before ordering with your destination country and PO box address so we can check this for you.

Refunds, returns, and exchanges

We accept returns up to 30 days after delivery, if the item is unused and in its original condition, for refunds and exchanges.

In the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please email us as soon as possible at roalddahlshop@roalddahlmuseum.org with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. We address these on a case-by-case basis but will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution.
